We have collected here some notes on where to get the latest firmware and added a collection of the links to help getting started after the upgrade.

Maemo wiki has links for getting the flasher and firmware for different operating systems.

After upgrading the default root password for N800 is ‘rootme’ (you may want to change this!).

Then preparing the N800 for some serious development can start from installing these:

1. OpenSSH server
   
2. Terminal program (osso xTerm)
3. unzip
4. wget
5. zip file containing Java for N800 (more info)
